Gurugram: Setting a new benchmark in luxury automobile sales, #BMW Group India recorded its highest-ever annual car deliveries with an impressive 11% growth in 2024. The company delivered a total of 15,721 vehicles (BMW and MINI) along with 8,301 motorcycles from its BMW Motorrad division during January to December.

Outstanding Growth Across Segments
BMW cars accounted for 15,012 units, while MINI contributed 709 units to the total tally. The fourth quarter of 2024 saw BMW achieve its best-ever Q4 performance with 4,958 units sold, marking a 15% growth. Additionally, December 2024 recorded the highest monthly sales with 2,244 units, reflecting a 17% increase.

CEO Highlights Unprecedented Success
Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India, stated, "Achieving our highest-ever car sales in India is a significant milestone, crossing the 15,000-car mark. Our strong product portfolio in the luxury car segment, combined with new initiatives like Retail.NEXT and personalized customer experiences, has been key to our success. We continue to lead in segments such as electric mobility, luxury class, and premium compact vehicles, ensuring a seamless experience for our customers."

Luxury Class Sales Soar
BMW’s flagship Luxury Class models, including the BMW 7 Series, BMW i7, BMW X7, and BMW XM, recorded their highest-ever sales in India, with 2,507 units delivered, reflecting an 8% growth. The BMW X7 remained the top-selling model in this segment with 1,570 units sold, contributing to its cumulative delivery of over 5,000 units since its launch. The BMW 7 Series also witnessed robust demand, achieving a 15% increase with 865 units sold.

Electric Vehicles Dominate Luxury EV Segment
BMW Group India retained its leadership in the luxury electric vehicle market for the third consecutive year. In 2024, the company delivered 1,249 fully electric vehicles across BMW and MINI brands. The BMW i7 emerged as the best-selling electric model with 384 units sold. BMW Group India became the first luxury car manufacturer in the country to cross 3,000 EV deliveries, with the BMW iX being the most popular electric vehicle, boasting over 1,100 units sold.

Sports Activity Vehicles Lead Sales
Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs) made up 56% of BMW’s total car sales in India, with 8,351 units delivered in 2024, marking a 16% growth. The BMW X5 saw an unprecedented surge in demand, achieving its highest annual sales at 2,056 units, an 89% increase. The BMW X1, with a 20% share, emerged as the best-selling SAV and dominated the Indian premium compact SAV segment.

Long Wheelbase Models in High Demand
BMW’s long wheelbase portfolio, comprising the BMW 7 Series, BMW 5 Series, and BMW 3 Series, saw remarkable demand throughout 2024. The BMW 3 Series remained the best-selling sedan, accounting for 20% of sales in its segment. The newly launched BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase attracted significant attention, achieving over 1,000 deliveries within six months of its debut.

BMW M Performance Vehicles Make a Mark
BMW M, the brand’s high-performance division, had a landmark year in 2024 with eight new launches, including seven M cars and one M motorcycle. Deliveries of BMW M models rose to 875 units, with the M340i leading as the top-selling M car. Since its introduction, more than 1,000 M340i units have been sold in India, showcasing the brand’s engineering excellence in high-performance vehicles.

MINI Achieves Record Sales
The MINI brand continued to gain popularity, delivering 709 units in 2024. The iconic MINI 3-Door Cooper S recorded its highest-ever sales with 250 units, marking a 77% growth over the previous year.

BMW Motorrad’s Unmatched Performance
BMW Motorrad, the company’s motorcycle division, delivered 8,301 motorcycles in 2024, marking its best-ever half-yearly sales with 4,687 units sold between July and December, a 14% increase. The brand also posted record annual sales of its completely built-up (CBU) motorcycles, with 1,041 units delivered.

Innovative Finance Solutions for Customers
BMW India Financial Services continued to offer attractive finance plans under the BMW and MINI 360° program. This plan provides customers with benefits such as low monthly installments, assured buy-back options, and flexible upgrade opportunities. Notably, one in every four cars financed through BMW India Financial Services was under this program.

BMW Group’s Legacy in India
BMW India began its operations in 2007 and has since established a strong presence in the luxury automotive sector. The company’s manufacturing plant in Chennai produces nine car models locally. BMW’s operations also include a parts warehouse in Pune, a training center in Gurgaon, and a wide dealership network across major metropolitan cities.

MINI entered the Indian market in 2012 and has since positioned itself as a premium small car brand. BMW Motorrad officially started its operations in April 2017. Today, BMW Group India has over 80 touchpoints nationwide, delivering unparalleled service quality and customer satisfaction.
