Washington: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar concluded his six-day US visit on Sunday, marking significant progress in India-US relations. During his visit, Jaishankar met US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to review the advancements in the India-US partnership over the past years.

Sharing his thoughts on the meeting via social media platform X, Jaishankar expressed his satisfaction: “Delighted to meet Antony Blinken in Washington, D.C. Reviewed the progress in the India-US partnership over the last four years. Agreed on the strengthened cooperation across multiple sectors and the growing ease of working together. Confident that India-US ties will serve both our mutual interests and global welfare.”

Jaishankar also held discussions with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, where they exchanged views on key regional and global developments.

A significant highlight of his trip was chairing the two-day conference of Indian Consulates in the US. This included representatives from Washington D.C., New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston, and Atlanta. The discussions centered on advancing technology, trade, investment, and improving services for the Indian diaspora. Jaishankar lauded the productive dialogues, emphasizing their role in deepening Indo-US collaboration.

The visit follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s US trip in September, where he attended the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit. This series of high-level engagements underlines the ongoing strategic dialogue between the two nations.

Jaishankar’s visit also coincides with an important political transition in the US as Donald Trump is set to assume the presidency soon. Experts believe this trip has laid the groundwork for bolstering bilateral relations further, ensuring mutual growth and global stability.
