Gorakhpur Tragedy: Speeding Car Claims Three Lives, Leaves Four Critical

Gorakhpur . A heartbreaking road accident shook Gorakhpur on Friday night when a speeding car lost control and ran over a family sitting outside their home, leading to the death of three people and leaving four others critically injured.

The tragic incident unfolded around 10:30 PM in a residential locality after the family had finished their dinner and stepped outside to enjoy the night air. According to police reports, a car, reportedly moving at a speed of nearly 100 kilometers per hour, suddenly veered off course. Without warning, it crashed into a cot placed outside the house where seven members of the family were gathered.

Eyewitnesses described a horrifying scene as the high-velocity vehicle struck the group, flinging individuals several meters away. Immediate chaos ensued, with neighbors rushing to the spot and calling for emergency assistance. All seven victims were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.

Despite the doctors' best efforts, three members of the family succumbed to their injuries shortly after arrival. The other four individuals sustained serious injuries and are currently battling for their lives under intensive care. The hospital administration has informed that their condition remains critical, and specialized medical teams are attending to them round the clock.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the matter. The driver of the car reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene after the crash.
